You Don't Know What Death Is

Halloween II perfectly captured that particular feeling of a late Halloween night, long after trick-or-treating has ended, when you can sense that Halloween is coming to a close. It's a neat couple of hours, before it's officially November 1st. Teens walking to parties (or back home from parties), porch lights getting turned off, pumpkins burning down on tiny wicks, and that cold dampness making it impossible to get warm. And the silence.

You can feel that something wonderful just walked across your path, and moved off into the trees. And you were the only one who saw it.

First fall beer of the season (Magic Hat's HEX)

As some of you may know, I'm a beer junkie. Especially for fall brews. I go gaga when I see Shipyard's Pumpkinhead in stores. I love the taste of pumpkin beers to death! After a while though, the taste starts to get to me since I don't stop drinking them once released from the breweries. (they started shipping two weeks ago to store and won't stop till Oct 31st) That's why I've been on the hunt for rich tasting fall ales that are not loaded with pumpkin. Magic Hat tends to put out a seasonal package called the Night of the Living Dead 12 pack. It's pretty much a Halloween party pack. It includes Magic Hat #9, hI.P.A., Humble Patients and of course Magic Hat's fall beer Hex. Hex is not to bad. It has more of a bitter taste then most fall beers but keeps that Magic Hat rich taste. But after the first beer it can get kind of bland.

MAGIC HAT'S HEX: OURTOBERFEST get's a C+

I think I may post a review on all the fall beers I drink on here, so keep an eye out!

Come meet me this Friday!

Not sure if some of you know this, but I host an Asian horror panel at AFO (Anime Festival Orlando) every year. It's pretty much a clip show of some the best and goriest scenes to come out of Asia over the past year. Since I screen so many of these films for myself over the year I figure it's my way of giving back. And it's fun to see the looks on kids faces.

So come on out! It's this Friday (Aug 5th) @ 11pm in the Wyndham hotel on iDrive. (It's the same hotel as Spooky Empire)

And as always, I always have a special treat at the end for everyone. After that you will probably find me by the pool with a drink in my hand. Sayonara!
