Every Day is Halloween EP:10 - The Death and Rebirth of Physical Media
This is an episode I have been wanting to do for quite some time. Tim Anderson and I sit down and discuss where physical media is headed. With things like Netflix, Hulu and other streaming services, it feels like there is no more room (pun intended) for Blu-Ray's, DVD's and all other types of physical media these days. But don't fret just yet my haunted collector! This episode might just open your eyes!

Hey! Orion Pictures is back!
"Orion Pictures is alive again. The mini-major studio and distributor behind The Terminator, RoboCop and Best Picture Oscar winners Amadeus, Platoon, Dances With Wolves and The Silence Of The Lambs was acquired by MGM in 1997 after flailing financially through most of the 1980s and ’90s, but it fell off the map within a few short years. Now MGM quietly is positioning Orion Pictures as a specialty multiplatform distribution arm, starting with the October release of horror sequelThe Town That Dreaded Sundown." -Deadline.com

Oculus (2013)
Oculus was simply an "okay" picture. I'll give Mike Flanagan credit for not relying on too many jump scares. Though, I am happy to say the overall looming presence of evil is what makes this 2013 haunted thriller feel truly terrifying. Oculus's problem was that it didn't expand more on it's own mythology and leaves you in the dark bummed and confused.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good "downer ending" (The Mist,) but this one almost feels forced with no real pay off. I felt cheated towards the end, left with this message. "The mirror is evil, has been evil, and will continue to be evil in hopefully more sequels."
Maybe the short feels a tad more grounded?

Now watching: Carrie (2013)
Carrie wasn't bad. I do agree with Tim Anderson that there really isn't a need for a remake that just follows the original movie almost to the T. Take some chances and change things up a bit! But it was visually fun and Moretz along with Moore did fantastic jobs as The White's.

Now Playing: Bloody Homecoming
Yup, It's just as bad as it sounds. Everything from the typical writing trope to the lack luster acting. "
Three years after a tragic accident leaves a student dead at the annual Homecoming dance, a group of senior friends anxious about the return of Homecoming Night to their sleepy Southern town find themselves visited by a deadly presence from their past in the dark and desolate halls of their very own high school."
It's almost a lesser version of My Bloody Valentine. I couldn't help but notice little things like sound and lighting issues, but I don't want to bore you all with minimal details. There are no clues leading into the twist, but there are a ton of obvious lead on's that nowhere to throw off the viewer. If you do get a chance to watch this disaster, pay attention to how long the "pouring gasoline" scene is, also watch the woman pouring the gasoline's face. It's pretty damn amusing.

Now Watching: Don't worry, You're AMONG FRIENDS
And now to see if Danielle Harris can direct. What's with the "dinner table" trend in horror right now? Is it because it's cheap to film? I feel like it's a tired medium these days. The ending to this was pretty cheap also, but I enjoyed the 'actress bit.' I'd rather be watching 'Would you Rather' staring Jeffrey Combs though.
